Women’s Dual-Tec™ 2.0 3/4 Length Tights

I jumped at the offer to test a pair of Opedix Dual-Tec 2.0 3/4 tights. I had previously tested a pair of Opedix Core-Tec 2.0 shorts, but the sizing and style were off for me. I sized down from a Small to X-Small for the tights, which worked out perfectly.

For those not familiar with the brand, Opedix was founded 2004 and makes “Kinetic Health Gear to enhance performance, recovery and rehabilitation by promoting dynamic alignment and optimal joint function. Opedix technology is scientifically designed to aid the recovery of back, leg and knee injuries as well as improve performance for skiers, snowboarders, runners, golfers and athletes across all disciplines.”

The Opedix Dual-Tec 2.0 3/4 tights are the first product from Opedix to combine technology from two existing items, the KNEE-Tec tights offering knee stability and the CORE-Tec shorts offering core support. The quality of these tights is apparent. From the packaging to the materials used, it’s evident they’re are going to last a long time (and they should, at $225).

These may look like your typical compression tights, but they are not. What makes Opedix tights different from others in the market are the bands of stiff fabric that run down the leg from the hips and wrap around the knees. As I mentioned in my B.I.G. Review, it’s almost as if you have an extra set of muscles taking the pressure off your joints. They offer all the right support in all the right places.

I would size down if you’re on the fence. The tights sit fairly high up on the waist, just below the belly-button with a draw-string to adjust for fit. The oversized elastic waistband is extremely comfortable and I didn’t have any issues with chaffing. I just wish they came with some sort of a pocket for a key.

I would recommend these tights to anyone who wants some extra support during or after a run. They’re durable, comfortable, and fit really well. Yes, they’re pricey, but they’re worth the extra dough.
