Skechers GObionic 2

Thomas: The GObionic 2’s update is purely an update to the upper. Honestly that is all the shoe needs. The ride of the GObionic is unique in that it feels minimal, flexible, cushioned, and light. The toe box is wide open, plenty of room for your toes to wiggle. The shoe delivers that natural running feel a lot of runners enjoy. I don’t know of a trainer out there that I would compare to them. I have run a marathon in the GObionic and the shoe held up well. So with the midsole and outsole staying identical the only thing to comment on is the upper. Skechers did a nice job making the upper look a little more like a sporty shoe than the first versions by using materials that are more similar to traditional trainers. The GObionic is a zero drop lightweight shoe at 7.35oz that flexes with your foot. I enjoyed getting re-acquainted with the GObionc, but there is not much to add to the original reviews. This got me thinking. Skechers does not have a track flat or 5k speed shoe. (I consider the GORun Speed more of a 5K and above running shoe.) I would love to see Skechers take the segmented flexible bottom of the GObionic, reshape it and put a fast running shoe shaped upper on it. Something like the Adidas Adios Boost, the New Balance 1400 or the Saucony A6. Make it fast!
