YMR Track Club Apparel Review

What You Need To Know

  • Designed and manufactured in Sweden
  • Classic retro styling
  • Basically the European Tracksmith

Chances are you haven’t heard of YMR Track Club. Unless you’re Swedish. So here’s a little intel, as if it isn’t obvious from the feature photo: YMR Track Club is basically Swedish Trackmith.

Founded in 2017 by Olympic athlete Peter Häggström Lindecrantz as a celebration to his former sports club IK Ymer, Peter made an updated version of the club´s track suite from the 70s.

The retro style is designed and made the textile district “Sjuhärad” in Västergötland, Sweden, known for producing high quality fabrics and fashion for generations.

Yes, it’s athletic gear, but it’s as fashionable as you can get while still wicking away sweat.

Track Attack Singlet

MEAGHAN: I received the women’s Track Attack Singlet. It’s “wine red” with a navy stripe and yellow logo across the chest. It fits true to size, is semi-fitted, and breathes well. It’s made from 95% polyester (from recycled PET-bottles) and 5% elastane. What’s cool about YMR is that they design and knit all their stuff locally (in Sweden). They also use a lot of recycled materials and focus on sustainability.

I love the YMR gear and their designs. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to up their athletic style.

Track Attack Singlet

THOMAS: YMR Track knows the USA sizing, so even though I requested a medium for review, they sent a large singlet. I am glad they did, their large fits similar to most US mediums, even though the tights fit great in my regular medium. Make sure you check their sizing charts before ordering.

The singlet is soft and breathes well with a more open mesh in the back. I didn’t hit any high heat runs in it, since we’re right in the middle of fall. My warmest runs were in the high 60º F/15º C range. Nevertheless, the singlet wicked the sweat I had and felt comfortable at the ends of the run. I wasn’t sure about the scalloped bottom for the singlet, but during the run I didn’t notice it at all.

Norr Malarstrand Tights

THOMAS: As Meaghan mentioned in earlier, I am not sure how you say Tracksmith in Swedish, but if you like that vibe pronounce it YMR. Even though the materials are high tech and modern, the style is pure OG ivy league track.

These tights are as basic in design as it gets— no zippered ankles, no extra layers, hidden pockets or other gimmicks. What you do get is great fabric, terrific fit, and a stylish color palette, with just the tiniest embellishments— one zippered center back pocket and a small reflective triangle on each calf.

A drawstring cinches the waist and off you go. The size medium was a near-perfect fit. I ran a 20-mile run in the tights without any undergarments (blush) and had no issues with chafing or any other irritations. I finished the run just in time to arrive at my son’s soccer playoff game, and for better or for worse, I could tell my tights were making an impression with the other parents.
